About Us

K J H Educational Therapy is for adults with learning difficulties and mental health, this is an activity based environment surrounded by wildlife. activities will include animal care and maintenance of their environments. we will also participate in other activities such as outside rt projects, building bird houses, hedgehog homes and stone painting, the list is endless as the activities are person centered and each person will be supported to help develop their own personal goals and dreams. there will be days where we have BBQ's and spend time bonding and making friends in the most beautiful surroundings along with the company of all our animals. as well as learning life skills it is just as important that we enjoy the outdoors and have a sense of freedom.

living with a mild learning disability myself I understand how important it is to have the correct support to grow in life. I have spent many years feeling less than others because of my own fears or how I have been made to feel. when I had the correct support put in place any doors started to open for me. I have been working with learning disabilities for many years now and it is something I love doing and am deeply passionate about. no goal is too big or too small, weather its learning to make toast or drive a car, my goal in life is to make everyone feel that they matter, no matter what their disability is. I wanted to set this business up as I understand the frustration's of being stuck indoors, being outside with the animals brings me a sense of peace and calmness that I would love to share and experience with others.

we have a variety of animals on our land, such as; Bob the miniature Shetland, I rescued him as a baby as he was very poorly, me and my family nursed him back to full health. Bob is a cheeky boy but has been amazing with all my children and grandchildren growing up. He loves going out in his trap and meeting people, he also loves his walks across the common. it is importand to keep him fit and busy so he stays healthy! Marley is a welsh sec C and is only young so he is still learning and growing. he loves giving kisses and often licks you like a dog. We also have Rebel who is a gorgeous boy, he is also still young and learning, he is full of beans and is such a character to be around. we have a few chickens, Lucy, Emma, Scarlett, pearl, Thelma and Louise, they are very friendly and laying fresh eggs daily. I have a large flock of guinea fowl who all free range. there very funny birds to watch but are quite shy, they are very important to our land as they control all the bugs and ticks! through the summer we collect their eggs and incubate them to hatch new babies to join the flock as they are not very good at looking after their own eggs! we have some beautiful  peacocks, Stella, Stanley, Keith and baby peacock. Then we have the goats, Gary, Kevin, Usain and Roo, they are great fun but are very cheeky! they love going on there walks and beeing fussed. Finally, we have our newest members of the family joining us at the end of 2024. Alpacas, Titan, Bambi and Maltese. we cant wait to welcome them and settle them into their new home.
